LGBT HERO has been commissioned to create a health resource hub made by, and for, LBT women.

We already know that the coronavirus pandemic has had an huge impact on people's health. The effect on queer women, who already experienced significant health inequalities before the COVID-19 outbreak, needs addressing. We want to create resources that target the greatest needs of LBT women at this stage of the crisis, providing accurate information at this difficult time when many women may be unable to access advice through other services.

As with all of our campaigns and resources, we place great importance on authenticity, which is why we work in collaboration with the community to produce our work. We want LBT women to shape our upcoming project by providing their real life experience and expertise.

As a participant in the project you'll get to:

  • Shape the project's goals: what are the most pressing needs? What topics should be addressed?
  • Provide input throughout the process through advisory discussion groups.
  • Contribute to the final resources through writing and researching.

We know that this is a difficult time for everyone, so time commitment from participants will be kept as low as possible. Advisory meetings will be once every fortnight at the beginning of the project and then reduced to once a month.

The first meeting will be conducted via zoom on Monday March 8 at 6pm. If you think that you could help LGBT HERO by getting involved in the project, then send an email to [email protected], with 'LBT Hub' in the subject line.
