Do something wonderful this World AIDS Day and support a service where your donation WILL make an impact.

LGBT HERO is about making connections, whether that's with peers, the community or connecting you to services and support that you want or need. This year we are looking to the future and honouring our past with the legacy of the groundbreaking campaigning of GMFA - Gay Men Fighting AIDS.

That's what we want to do for people living with HIV. We want to continue to create safe and supportive spaces for LGBTQ+ people living with HIV, both online through our website and forums, and in person and online through support groups and social events, such as our positive social groups. We also want to continue work around HIV education, supporting people living with HIV and fighting HIV stigma.

For this year's World AIDS Day, which falls on 1 December, we are asking you to kindly support us and help keep this important work going and GROWING. Much of our funding comes from community support. Without your donations we can't continue or expand this work.

This is also about honouring the profound and impactful legacy of our predecessor Gay Men Fighting AIDS (GMFA). It is 30-plus years since GMFA came on the scene in 1992 to help change the face of HIV prevention and education and to help support so many living with HIV. It broke new ground, was provocative, direct and helped gay men across the UK. You can find out more about the impact of GMFA's work on our new legacy archive.

So whether you want to support our current HIV work or honour the legacy of GMFA, please donate this World AIDS Day.
