A whole system approach for health and social care of LGBT people in Lambeth


Please note: This event is for members and leaders of LGBT communities who work, live or have service users in Lambeth as well as for colleagues from Lambeth Council, the NHS, the Metropolitan Police, Prison Service, Housing Associations, Schools and Colleges, other councils, Voluntary and Community Sector Organisations, Community Groups and other service providers who interact with LGBT people.

Lambeth Council in partnership with LGBT HERO would like to invite you to a free, half day event on 19th September 2019 in the Assembly Hall, Lambeth Town Hall, Brixton Hill, SW2 1RW

Looking back:


Over the last year, Lambeth Council in partnership with LGBT HERO and our LGBT advisory group members have been working to address the needs of LGBT people. This event will highlight the key successes of this work including a panel discussion addressing the key findings.


Moving forward:

In the context of Lambeth Together, the new integrated health and social care system in Lambeth, we will be looking at how we can better meet the needs of LGBT people in the provision of health, social care and other services, focusing on:

  • Mental health and LGBT people

  • Primary Care and LGBT people

  • The needs of older LGBT people

  • Access needs for disabled LGBT people

  • Housing and LGBT people

This will include round table discussions and the opportunity to feedback your ideas and suggestions on how we do this.


The event is for members and leaders of LGBT communities who work, live or have service users in Lambeth as well as for colleagues from Lambeth Council, the NHS, the Metropolitan Police, Prison Service, Housing Associations, Schools and Colleges, other councils, Voluntary and Community Sector Organisations, Community Groups and other service providers who interact with LGBT people.


Registration starts at 12.30pm and we aim to finish by 4.30pm.Lunch will be provided from 12.30 pm - please let us know of any dietary requirements.A full agenda will be sent closer to the day.


The event is part of a Lambeth project focusing on whole system approaches to tackling inequalities in health for LGBT communities. It’s been organised by Lambeth Council in partnership with LGBT HERO.
