Become a HERO Trustee

HERO - the Health Equality and Rights Organisation - is the parent organisation of GMFA - the gay men's health project and Outlife - the home of health, life and advice for LGBTQ+ people.

We’re currently looking to recruit a number of new trustees to join the board. We're looking for people who are committed to LGBTQ+ equality and representation and willing to contribute their time, skills and knowledge to drive forward our strategy.

It’s also vital that the board of trustees is representative of the communities we serve, so we will particularly welcome applications from:

· People living with HIV

· Trans people

· Women

· People from Black, Asian and minority ethnic (BAME) communities

Trustees meet monthly and are responsible for the overall governance and management of HERO. However, as HERO is a small organisation, there is the opportunity for trustees to get involved in work outside of board meetings and trustee duties.

We are interested in hearing from people with finance experience, PR/communications skills, campaigning expertise and wider voluntary sector governance experience.

If you are interested, please email with a bit of information about yourself and why you would like to become a HERO trustee.
